Local storage named merito_newsletter_welcome_, separately for each edition, remembers dismissal for 30 days or a subscription request for one year. It stores an expiry time, not your email address. Deleting site data resets that choice.
Where weather selection is available, an encrypted technical preference remembers the chosen area for up to a year. These preferences are not a location history and do not contain your raw IP address.
Internal article-read counts do not require an analytics cookie. The site also includes a Google Analytics tag, a separate service that can process browser and request information. Browser tracking controls and applicable consent choices may affect its operation.
